Residents have until the end of the month to renew their pet registration, and the City of Gosnells reminds pet owners to check their registration details are up to date.

By law, all dogs aged over three months must be registered and microchipped, and all cats aged over six months must be registered, sterilised and microchipped.

City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said pets could be registered in the City of Gosnells for one year, three years, or for life.

“Many City of Gosnells residents choose to register their pets for life, which saves unnecessary time and costs associated with annual renewals,” he said.

“However, the annual registration renewal deadline is also a timely reminder to check and update your pets’ details if you have moved house, changed your phone number, parted with a pet, or welcomed a new pet into your family.

“Ensuring your details are up to date will make it much quicker and easier for Rangers to reunite pets with their owners, reducing stress for you and your pet.”
