Keep your eye out for your local Waste and Recycling Calendar in your letterbox this week, which is featured on the back of your Term 3 Programs and Events guide.

“To minimise waste and reduce costs to ratepayers, the old format waste and recycling guide will no longer be printed,” City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said.

“Instead, the waste and recycling calendar features on the back of the Term 3 Programs and Events guide being delivered to all City households. The information previously contained in the old guide is available any time of the day on the City’s website.”

The City will also implement an education campaign with tips and advice about recycling more effectively and reducing waste, following the recent decision by Chinese authorities to no longer receive recycling waste from Australia.

“It’s really important everyone in our community recycles carefully, because recycling that is contaminated by un-recyclable waste ends up in landfill and increases costs,” Mayor Dewhurst said.

“If you’re unsure what waste goes in which bin, check our website for more details.”
