Families living near Canna Park in Canning Vale will soon have a great new playground, with construction now underway.

Mayor David Goode said the playground would complete the park and make it more neighbourhood-friendly.

“Canna Park is surrounded by family homes but is not within easy walking distance of parks with playgrounds, so it made sense to build a playground there,” he said.

“It is already a lovely spot to meet or relax, as it has a large pond with a water feature, gazebo, bridge, viewing platform and plenty of lawn – soon it will be a great family space too.”

Nearby resident Andrea Hodson said the picturesque park was ideal for family gatherings but, without a playground, previously offered little for families with young children.

The playground is being built near the corner of Canna Drive and MacMillan Boulevard, close to the existing pathway, shade structure and fenced part of the lake.
