Phil Doncon painting on canvas

Audiences will be spell bound as they watch visual artist Phil Doncon bring paint 'alive' on a massive canvas on Tuesday 4 July at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre.

In seconds, seemingly random splashes turn into a face, a ship or a guitarist, as Phil tells a story with his brush. The evolving visual imagery combines spectacularly with the artist's dramatic movements and a vibrant sound track.

“Phil not only impresses with his artistic skills, but his Paint Storm performance reinforces values such as care and respect, harmony in diversity, resilience and friendship,” City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said.

“The school holiday performances will also draw on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander imagery in celebration of NAIDOC week.”

An exciting, hands-on workshop, including 'speed’ painting to music and optional break dancing, will follow the first show.
