Nostalgia hunt for City’s museum

Published on Tuesday 5 February, 2019

Nostalgia items

If you’re harbouring any objects, photos or stories from the 1960s, 70s or 80s, now is the time to bring them out for the City’s Nostalgia Collection Day on Saturday 9 March.

The City of Gosnells Wilkinson Homestead Museum is seeking donations of memorabilia from the local community to expand its collection.

The City’s Mayor Glenn Dewhurst encouraged residents and business owners to bring along any items with a ‘story’ from that era.

“Growing the Museum’s collection will ensure a more accurate depiction of recent life in the City of Gosnells and preserve that history for future generations,” the Mayor said.

“We’re keen to secure items from all local suburbs and scanning facilities will be on hand for people with photos they’d like to donate.

“While you’re here, enjoy a tour of the museum, bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the Wilkinson Homestead Museum.”

For more details about the Nostalgia Collection Day, please call 9397 3000 or visit the City’s website www.gosnells.wa.gov.au.
