City of Gosnells Mayor Glenn Dewhurst and Councillors are serving the community in a new way next month – by serving dinner to people in need.

Mayor Dewhurst, Deputy Mayor Terresa Lynes and fellow Councillors Olwen Searle, Julie Jones and Peter Abetz will be helping out at the Christian City Church Langford (also known as C3 Langford) for their Love Langford dinner.

The Love Langford dinners are fortnightly events that serve between 200 and 250 meals to people experiencing social isolation or financial hardship – that’s more than 20,000 free meals to people in Langford and surrounding areas since 2015.

“I’m very excited about supporting the Love Langford dinners, because they invite residents to meet others in our community, build relationships with one another, volunteer, gain skills and have fun,” Deputy Mayor Lynes said.

C3 Langford is currently seeking agencies to partner with, to expand dinners and provide onsite training for job seekers and to develop life skills.
