Make a difference in your community

Do you want to make a difference in your community? If so, you may wish to nominate for Council, as part of the upcoming local government postal elections.

Seven vacancies in the City of Gosnells Council will be filled during the election, including six four-year terms and one two-year term.

To nominate for Council, candidates must be 18 years or older and be a registered elector. Nominations for Council will be accepted between Thursday 7 September and Thursday 14 September.

Anyone considering nominating for Council is encouraged to register for the WA Local Government Association’s (WALGA) Prospective Elected Members Webinar on Thursday 17 August.

This free webinar will provide prospective Councillors with a chance to ask questions, and provide important information about the roles and responsibilities of Council and Councillors, an overview of the skills required, and how being a Councillor might impact on your life.

Registrations for the WALGA webinar can be made via the City’s online events listing.
