Local opportunities with US partnership

A range of opportunities for local residents were raised at a meeting between the City’s Mayor David Goode and the US Consul General, David J Gainer, last week.

Opportunities discussed included student exchange and scholarships programs, as well as trade benefits for Perth’s south-east region.

“The focus of our discussion was very much on collaboration and building on the long and positive relationship between our countries,” Mayor Goode said.

“I found the meeting informative and valuable and would encourage local residents to reach out to the US Consulate to identify opportunities that may be available.”

Consul General Gainer has represented the United States Government in Perth for the past year and is responsible for developing partnerships between the US and WA.
