Local residents can find out where the best Christmas light displays in the City of Gosnells are by visiting the City’s website.

Judging for the annual Safe City Christmas Lights Competition will take place between Tuesday 4 December and Thursday 6 December, and entrants will be leaving their lights on until 11pm during that time.

“Viewing local Christmas light displays is a great way to enjoy the festive spirit, and it’s a lot of fun for our competition entrants and viewers,” Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said.

“It also encourages residents to get to know their neighbours and enjoy walking through their neighbourhood, which are important ways to improve community safety during the Christmas and school holiday period.”

Residents viewing lights are encouraged to be courteous of neighbours, drive carefully and park safely.

“We know families with excited children will be visiting these displays, so we are asking all drivers to be mindful as they approach houses displaying Christmas lights,” Mayor Dewhurst said.

“Remember to park where you aren’t blocking anyone’s driveway or footpaths, or blocking the view of other drivers or pedestrians.”
