Emerge is a new City of Gosnells series of art workshops, starting this month, to give people a chance to try different art forms and connect with other community members.

A free online acrylic workshop on Friday 25 September, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, will launch the series, which involves monthly workshops until June 2021.

Mayor David Goode encouraged all residents with a passion for art to get involved and try one, some or all of the sessions.

“The Emerge workshops are suitable for beginners through to seasoned artists and there will be networking and professional development for established artists,” he said.

“There are a broad range of mediums to try, such as photography, still life or even underwater watercolour, and because the workshops will be held throughout the City, as well as online, more people will have an opportunity to take part.”

Join experienced artist Nicola Swanepoel for the September online workshop, which will guide you through painting flowering cactus.

Materials will not be supplied, however a list of requirements will be provided with your registration, which is open to City of Gosnells residents and ratepayers by household, so you can enjoy the workshop at home with friends or family.

Places are limited, so please register via the City’s website at www.gosnells.wa.gov.au.

Sponsored by Primewest, the Emerge series will be held from September 2020 to June 2021, with more details available on the City’s website, by calling 9397 3000 or email cogarts@gosnells.wa.gov.au.
