Last chance to nominate Citizen of the Year

Published on Wednesday 24 October, 2018

City of Gosnells residents have until 31 October to nominate someone for the Community Citizen of the Year Awards, which are announced each year on Australia Day.

Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said the awards recognised people who made the community a better place to live.

“We have some amazing people in the City of Gosnells, who make a real difference to people in our community and deserve to be recognised for their efforts,” he said.

“But before we can recognise these amazing people, we need you to nominate them.

“Think carefully about who you think is a champion in your neighbourhood – whether they are prominent in our community, or whether they are quiet achievers – and let us know who they are and why they need to be recognised.”

Winners for 2018 included Young Citizen of the Year Chloe Hazebroek, Citizen of the Year Frances Higgins, Senior Citizen of the Year Mavis Clark and Community Group of the Year Gosnells Older Women’s Network.
