The Southern River College students – Umair Ahmad, who won the Overall prize and Kobi Philbin, who won the High School category – were today presented with their awards.

Mayor David Goode, who visited the College, said it was great to see so many young people getting involved and sharing their creativity with their community.

“They are both very talented students and I hope they will continue to follow their artistic passions,” he said.

“All of our entrants embraced the theme of showcasing their City with this competition and we’ve been pleasantly surprised with the variety of entries.

Thanks to competition sponsor Primewest, prizes have been given to all winners of the Home Is Where The Art Is competition, which included: 

  • Overall winner: $300 voucher – Umair Ahmad (Title: Sutherlands Park)
  • Lower Primary School: $100 voucher – Genevieve Judith Farlie (Title: City of Gosnells Fireworks)
  • Upper Primary School: $100 voucher – Jaedyn Tee (No title)
  • High School: $100 voucher – Kobi Pearce Philbin (No title)
  • Non-professional: $100 voucher – Kitty Woodhouse (No title)
  • Digital/professional: $100 voucher – Catherine Foster (Title: Mary Carroll Wetland)
  • Social Media: $100 voucher – Jochelle Lois Tedja (Title: Fireworks)
