Community members are invited to find out about proposed improvements to Ashford Park in Maddington, at a community consultation session on Thursday 19 November.

City of Gosnells staff will be on hand at the park, in Ashford Street, Maddington, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, to share a concept plan with residents and gather feedback.

Plans for the park include new play equipment, a picnic area, grassed areas and gardens. Existing trees on site will be kept to provide shade to park users.

Mayor David Goode said the City was continually working to improve parks for local residents, with several park upgrades currently underway across the City.

“Fresh, new facilities at Ashford Park will give our local residents a better place to meet, play and spend time outdoors,” he said.

"And with more people enjoying the park, it will make our community a safer and more welcoming place to be.”

Ashford Park was recently renamed from Ashford Street Reserve, as part of a City-wide effort to simplify park names.

The concept plan can also be viewed online at www.gosnells.wa.gov.au.
