Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on Wednesday this year, which means there will be changes to household rubbish and recycling collection days in the City of Gosnells during the festive season.

Further, the City will introduce weekly recycling collection between 23 December and 4 January, to cater for an anticipated increase in demand.

“At this time of year, we understand that households generally have more waste and, in particular more recycling, which is why we’re introducing weekly recycling for the festive season,” Mayor David Goode said.

“More detail about the changes to our waste and recycling service is on the City’s website and I encourage residents to check online or follow us on social media for the latest information.”

Normal household and recycling collections will resume from Monday 6 January.

To help keep our streets looking tidy, there will be no general junk or green waste collections during the festive season, and these will resume on Monday 13 January.

Opening hours for the City’s Civic Centre and Operations Centre, libraries, Leisure World, Addie Mills Centre, Wilkinson Homestead Museum and the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre will also be affected during the festive season.

Information will be displayed at each venue and can also be found at the link below, or you can contact the City by calling 9397 3000.
