National Science Week is coming to the City of Gosnells, with a series of science-based workshops and activities for all ages.

City of Gosnells Mayor David Goode said the Science Trail, which would run from Saturday 14 August to Saturday 21 August, was a great way for community members to learn more about the world around us.

“This past year, throughout the COVID pandemic, we have seen the importance of science in our lives,” he said.

“But science is more than lab coats and petri dishes, it can help us better understand everything around us, including the plants and animals in our environment, the stars in the sky, and even the way we clean our homes.”

With more than 15 events planned as part of the Science Trail, there are activities and workshops to help children, young people and adults all find their inner scientist.

The trail includes planting events with the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, Archaeology at the Museum, Junkadelic Science workshops, native bee workshops, Cleaning with Chemistry, Astronomy with the Perth Observatory, a bush foods workshop and much more.

Bookings are required and details can be found on the City’s website at gosnells.wa.gov.au.
