Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

In June, the City of Gosnells will host two fun events to raise funds for cancer research, as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Residents can enjoy a hot cuppa and a selection of cakes, biscuits and homemade goodies, thanks to City staff, for this annual fundraiser at the Knowledge Centre on Monday 12 June or Kenwick Library on Monday 26 June, between 10am and 11am.

City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said these events were not only a terrific way to raise funds but also to increase awareness about services and support for people dealing with cancer.

“Unfortunately, cancer affects too many of us directly or indirectly and, for a small gold coin donation, it’s good to know that you can make a difference,” the Mayor said.

“The City is pleased to be involved with Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea for obvious reasons but this event is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together to simply have a cuppa and a chat.”

Last year, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events held around the nation raised an incredible $11.9 million, with funds assisting the Cancer Council’s vital work in cancer research, prevention and support services.
