Community members are invited to have their say in a beauty contest with a difference – by voting for the most beautiful historic building in the City of Gosnells.

Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said by voting for the most beautiful building on the City of Gosnells Heritage Inventory 2016, entrants could win a one-year membership to the National Trust (WA).

“Some of the buildings on the inventory are well known, while others are tucked away in suburban streets,” he said.

“All of the buildings on the City’s Heritage Inventory are significant in our history, but which building really captures your heart?"

“This competition is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the City’s history and the people who lived here in generations gone by.”

The property owner of the most popular beautiful historic building will win $2,000, with the winner to be announced at the City’s Australia Day Big Breakfast on 26 January 2019.

To see which places are eligible for your vote, check out the City’s Heritage Inventory 2016, available on the City’s website and from City libraries. Then vote using the online form here.

Entries close at 4pm on 1 December 2018.
