Volunteers were the centre of attention at a community event designed to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution they make in the City of Gosnells.

More than 70 volunteers and their families attended a free barbecue on Saturday 25 May, hosted by the City as part of National Volunteer Week.

Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said the City is home to hundreds of generous people who volunteer in a range of capacities and make a significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of the community as well as the quality of life of residents.

“Volunteers perform a vital, yet sometimes overlooked role in the community, and without our volunteers important community programs and services couldn’t continue week in, week out,” he said.

“This was a wonderful way for the City to thank community volunteers for their ongoing commitment and enthusiasm.”

If you would like to consider volunteering, the latest local and state-wide volunteering vacancies can be accessed through the e-Volunteer Hub’s online search tool located on the City’s website.
