Children in the City of Gosnells can learn tumbling, juggling, diablo, hula-hooping and plate spinning during school holiday Zap Circus workshops at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre.

Globetrotting Zap Circus performers Tarrabelle Murphy and Rusty Hammond will take children through all the essential performance tricks and techniques in the Circus Fundamentals workshops.

During each lively, 50-minute workshop, participants will also have the chance to experiment with circus equipment. The workshops will be held on Wednesday 24 January, starting at 11am and 1.30pm.

Mayor Glenn Dewhurst said the Circus Fundamentals workshops provided a perfect opportunity for youngsters to get active and challenge themselves in a positive, friendly environment.

“For every child who’s dreamed of joining the circus, these Circus Fundamentals workshops will be a welcome addition to their school holiday activities,” Mayor Dewhurst said.

The workshop is suitable for all ages but would have the greatest impact on children 10 years and over.
