The much-loved play about an inspiring Liverpool housewife and mother, Shirley Valentine, makes its long-awaited return to the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 13 May, just in time for Mother’s Day.

This national touring show stars the talented and vibrant Mandi Lodge, who appeared recently in Always… Patsy Cline, in the lead role.

Shirley’s self-esteem has been battered by school, marriage and life in general, and she feels that her life is going nowhere. When her best friend wins a trip for two to Greece, Shirley grasps the opportunity to head for the sun and leave her current drudgery behind.

Watch as Shirley breaks free from society’s mould, in a classic show packed with warmth, humour and empathy.
