Works program

Capital Works Projects for 2016/17

  • Work on the $46.9 million Mills Park Redevelopment Project which includes a new community facility with clubrooms and café, along with extensive civil works including a new regional nature play space and skate plaza will be substantially completed.

  • $3.07 million on road rehabilitation including Forest Lakes Drive, Attfield Street, Olga Road and Davison Street.

  • $162,000 on footpath renewal.

  • $225,000 on car park resurfacing work.

  • $315,000 on irrigation renewal work.

  • $258,000 will be spent on improving hard landscaping at various locations throughout the City.

  • $457,000 on renewing 15 playgrounds throughout the City.

  • $2.7 million is earmarked to be spent on the continuation of the upgrading of Southern River Road to a dual carriageway.

  • $2.4 million will be spent on State and National Black Spot projects including $965,000 on the upgrading and signalisation of the intersection of Langford Avenue and Spencer Road, $458,000 on traffic signals at the intersection of Langford Avenue and Nicholson Road and $800,000 on traffic lights at the intersection of Yale road and Spencer Road.

  • $200,000 has been set aside to develop Lot 2 (house number 29) Bromley Road, Beckenham into passive open space.

  • $5.6 million has been set aside for a partial subdivision of Robinson Park, Gosnells and the creation of a large area of public open space.

  • $200,000 has been earmarked for the enhancement of spectator facilities to the Centennial Pioneer Park amphitheatre.

  • $1.36 million has been allocated to building renewal work across the City with projects ranging from roof replacement, air conditioning replacement/upgrade to replacement of carpets and floor tiling.

  • $4.2 million has been allocated to the construction of the Emergency Operations Centre for the Gosnells SES and Bush Fire Brigade, Lot 901 Kenwick Link, Beckenham.

  • $539,000 will be spent on an upgrade to the stormwater drainage system in the Multi Use Corridor in Canning Vale (rear of Sikh Temple).

  • $841,000 will be spent on the upgrade of laneways in Gosnells.
