Project updates

The City has successfully completed a number of park enhancements as part of its Public Open Space Strategy. This 30-year plan has five, six-year 'works' phases, which include acquiring, disposing of and improving land to create better parks throughout the City.

This plan is not just for the benefit of residents now but also those living here in the future. Work on Stage 2 is now underway (2017 - 2023).

Completed: March 2019

Working with local residents to create a design to suit their needs has resulted in an exciting transformation of this 1.9ha park.

Start: April 2019
Finish (est): October 2019

Nature is the focus of this park’s redevelopment, with nature play and wetland boardwalks to create a space where people can enjoy some ‘time out’.

Start: February 2020
Finish (est): September 2020

A 42-lot residential subdivision will be created around this large park, which will feature a state-of-the-art children’s playground, barbecues, seating, public toilets, lighting, street parking, a dog exercise area and extensive landscaping.

Redevelopment of the Neighbourhood Park within Thornlie, that will increase the usability of the reserve and provide a great place for families to enjoy the outdoors.

Start: April 2020
Finish (est):  July 2020

Chelsfield Street Reserve redevelopment will enhance and preserve all the natural elements that make up the current  reserve. Some of the enhancements include new play spaces, irrigated turf areas, additional tree plantings, footpath networks and picnic shelters to name a few.
