Court fines dog owners $5800
Recent prosecutions by City of Gosnells rangers in the Armadale Magistrates Court resulted in three dog owners being fined a total of $5800 (including costs) for dog offences.
The first offender pleaded guilty to three charges and was fined $400 for a dog attack – as well as $200 per dog – for wandering on private property, with $300 costs.
The second offender pleaded guilty to three charges and was fined $500, with $250 costs, for allowing a dog to wander with no muzzle or prescribed collar under the restricted breed regulations.
The third offender, a local security company, was fined $1800, with $2200 costs, for allowing two guard dogs to wander off leash in a public place.
