Kenwick Library stocks around 18,000 items, provides access to many resources and offers various services and programs for adults, children, and teens throughout the year.

The majority of library services require you to be a member but the good news is that it’s free to join!

Children's Area

Kids will have a great time in the children's collection. There are all sorts of items available for loan as well as many programs your child is welcome to attend.

A Wii gaming console and lots of games to play are available within the library. Library members may book the Wii for an hour (conditions apply). Tournaments and contests are held throughout the year, details of the next session will be placed on the What’s on @ your library page, or you can search for it via the Events listing.

Animal Move and Sing at Kenwick Library

When: Tuesdays, 9.30am - 10.30am during school term

Get ready for school with this imaginative movement program. 

Help your child develop their language and movement skills by singing songs and moving like animals in a fun, play environment.

Animal Move and Sing is a free program for children aged 2 – 4 years with their parents or carers (siblings are also welcome).

Fees: Free – no bookings necessary.

Book Club at your library

Have you ever reached the end of a great book and wished you had someone to talk about it with? Then you need to join Kenwick Book Club.

Join other enthusiastic readers to discuss new and exciting books and add a richness and diversity to your reading experience.

Sessions run on the last Wednesday of each month, 6.30-7.45pm at the Kenwick Library.

If this time doesn't suit you, there are alternative sessions available at our other libraries.

Crafternoon at Kenwick Library

If you’re a craft enthusiast or just starting out, the community craft group at Kenwick Library is the place to get stuck into your latest craft project, socialise with other people and be inspired.

The twice-monthly meetings are a great way to dedicate time to your crafting while you chat and enjoy a cuppa.

Participants must supply their own materials and tools for personal projects.

Sessions are on the first and third Monday of each month from 1pm to 3pm.

Family Rhyme Time at Kenwick Library

When: Wednesdays, 9.30am - 10am during school terms.

Family Rhyme Time (Ages 0 - 1 year)

The Family Rhyme Time Program uses rhymes, songs and stories to foster positive communication, enjoyable interaction and fun times between parents and children. Parents attend the program which runs during the school term to learn the pleasure and magic of storytelling, nursery rhymes, lullabies and songs which are shared at the group sessions with their baby or toddler.

Sessions are free and run weekly during school terms on Wednesdays, 9.30 – 10am. For more information about this program contact Kenwick Library on 9397 3099.

Parents please note that under the Children and Community Services Act, children under 6 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

Learning English Through Storytime (LETS) at Kenwick Library

When: Thursdays, 9.30am - 10.30am

Children can practice their English through stories, rhymes, songs and play through this interactive session.

Suitable for children aged 3 – 5, parents are encouraged to bring their children to this free event.

Morning tea is provided and bookings are essential by contacting the Library.

LEGO Club

When: Second Tuesday of the month, 3.30pm to 4.30pm

Are you up for a challenge? Get creative with LEGO at the library.

If you’re a child who loves tinkering and creating with LEGO then join the Kenwick Library LEGO Club. Members can build their own creations, play fun games and tackle challenges with other LEGO fans.

All materials supplied. Suitable for children aged 7 to 14 years.

Membership is free, register your interest now.

And they all lived happily ever after....

Enjoy songs, stories, nursery rhymes and craft activities. These fantastic story time sessions for pre-school children are a special treat for mums, dads and grandparents as well.

Sessions are free, and run weekly on Mondays from 9.30 - 10am (except during school holidays).

No bookings necessary.
