Opened in September 2009 the library is a vibrant and popular facility with the local community. The library is housed in the Amherst Village Community Centre along with the SoundLab Youth Centre, Community Hall and Meeting Rooms.

There is a wide-ranging collection of books, DVDs, music CDs, large print, audiobooks and more. Free computers and WiFi are available to use onsite and printing and photocopying are available for a small charge.

The library coordinates numerous free activities and programs throughout the year for babies and children through to adults and seniors. You could do some study, read the latest newspaper or just catch up with friends. Gaming consoles can even be played in the library, why not challenge a friend to a tournament?
