  • Early Bird Water Workout Lane: 5:30am – 9am with equipment provided.

Disabled Access

  • The pool can be accessed via the beach and a water wheen chair is available.
  • A platform hoist is also available to lower or lift patrons from the main pool

Outdoor Pool

A summer attraction, the pool opens during the warmer weather. Two whale water features spray water around for the kids.  We have two BBQ's which are available to the public free of charge and plenty of grass for those who want to have a picnic with the whole family.

  • Access band available from reception. 
  • Steam Room (moist heat 45°) and Sauna (dry heat 80°)

Your children can enjoy play and age appropriate activities in the Crèche while you take a fitness class or enjoy a swim.

We accommodate children aged 8 weeks to 6 years during school terms, and up to 12 years during school holidays.

Crèche Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8.30am - noon
Closed Saturdays and Sundays


All children must be enrolled, booked and paid for in advance.
Bookings and payment is now essential with a minimum of 24 hours prior to the day of care

Crèche Entry Fee: $4.50 for 1.5 hours (from 1 July 13)
Multipasses available in blocks of 10 or 20 at a discounted rate.

What to Bring

  • Prams for babies and toddlers are recommended as these provide children with security and help with the transition into the Crèche environment.
  • Disposable or cloth nappies and baby wipes should be provided for children still in nappies.
  • A hat for those sunny summer days and sunblock.
  • Labelling of all possessions is a good idea and greatly appreciated as it reduces the possibility of lost property.
  • A healthy snack and drink.The creche has a no nut policy.

Swimming Lesson Change Overs

The crèche provides a swimming lesson change over service at no extra cost. Crèche staff can pick your child up from the pool, if you are swimming with another child or attending an aerobic class.  Please speak to staff to make arrangements.

Child Safety and Collection

For the safety of your child, all children will only be released to the person who has signed them in, unless previous arrangements have been made with Crèche staff.

Rooms for Hire

If you need a venue for your next birthday party, corporate function, social meeting, group workshop or leisure program then Leisure World could have just what you need.

There are four rooms available for hire at competitive prices, these include:

  • One large room – 180 people capacity
  • Two smaller rooms – 40 people capacity each
  • One crèche room

All rooms are suitable for a range of uses, both active or quiet.

  • Booking requests can be made by completing either the Casual Booking Form (for one off bookings) or the Annual Booking Form (for ongoing bookings)

Pool or lanes

  • Lap lanes are available for hire on an hourly basis.
  • Available for hire for school carnivals or birthday parties. It can be a single booking or hiring on a regular basis.

Lap Swimming - suitable times

The quiet times to visit Leisure World to swim laps are:

Monday to Friday      5.30am to 9am
                                    12.30pm to 3.30 and
                                     7pm to close

Saturday                     7am to 9am and
                                     11.30am to close

The City's Leisure World is the most popular local community centre with an average annual attendance of 400,000 people. Swim School

Leisure World's award winning Swim School has been established since December 1993 and caters for the whole family from infants through to grandparents and every age in between.

Our Swim School is registered with Swim Australia and all teachers hold current industry qualifications. All staff have police clearance and observe a Code of Conduct.  The new Working With Children Check is also part of the process for teaching at Leisure World Swim School.

Intensive 9/10 day programs are available during October and January school holidays and cater from children as young as 3 years.

For information regarding term fees and availability you can either come in or call the Swim School Office between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday or Saturday 8am to Noon during school terms on 9251 8700.

If your child is new to lessons or if you are unsure about your child's grade, we recommend an appointment with our staff to discuss your child’s capabilities and receive a free skills assessment – we will then match you perfectly to our program. Bookings essential.

    • Kindygems 2 (must be competent in Kgems 1)
  • Pre School Classes (4 - 5 year olds)

    • Pre School Level 1 (For non confident children who have had no previous aquatic experience.)
    • Pre School Level 2 (For more confident children who can submerge and float.)
    • Pre School Level 3 (These children are able to swim freestyle and ready to learn to breathe and blow )
  • School Age

    • Preliminary 1, 2 and 3
    • Elementary 1, 2 and 3

    • Stages 10-11-12
    • Stages 13-14-15
  • Adults

    • Beginners (No previous experience)
    • Intermediates (Requiring stroke correction and learning new skills)

Fitness Training

  • Fitness training gives all swimmers the opportunity to continue swimming at a level suitable for their needs.
  • The fitness program is overseen by qualified staff and caters for junior swim fitness through to senior recreational programs. After an initial assessment by one of the staff, a recommendation will be made on which group would be a suitable level to join.
    • Junior advanced swim fit – skills, drills and fitness training
    • Intermediate swim fit – recreational and high school fitness training
    • Seniors/Adults swim fit – recreational and fitness training.

One on One Classes for people with a special needs

Swimming classes for people with special needs are intended for participants with low to medium care needs. Classes are subject to teacher availability. Teachers who instruct these classes have completed a basic training course called Austswim Teacher of Access & Inclusion. The City's Leisure World reserves the right to cancel enrolments if participants are deemed to require higher care needs than can be provided - in these cases refunds for the remaining classes will be provided.
