Workshops to exhibition series

The City of Gosnells offers four creative arts workshops where participants can submit an art work for an exhibition in November. Workshops include, oil painting, paint pouring, watercolours and calligraphy, held at two locations. Saturday morning sessions are $20.50 and Wednesday evening sessions are $5.50. Oil Painting for beginners

Drewfus Gates

Oil Painting for beginners is the first session of the Workshop to Exhibition series and will be facilitated by WA’s premier portrait artist Drewfus Gates.  Learn the basics of oil painting and create your own art piece in this hands-on workshop. Drewfus has worked as a professional portraitist since the 1980s and has won over 150 separate art awards.  He has been contracted to paint the portrait of many prominent Australians including Supreme Court justices, professors, governors, and sporting identities.

Paint Pouring

Jackie Peach

This workshop facilitated by talented artist and teacher Jacqui Peach is suitable for any level of painter, from beginners to accomplished artists. Enjoy working with gravity and free-flowing acrylic paints to create a unique art work.

This session is part of the Artist Lounge, Workshop to Exhibition series where participants can submit an art work for display in one of the exhibition showcases in November.

Watercolour

Daniela Dlugocz

Experiment with painting techniques to create beautiful expressive works with German born Daniela Dlugocz.  Daniela completed her Masters of Fine Art at Edith Cowan University and teaches regularly at Fremantle Art Centre.

This session is part of the Artist Lounge, Workshop to Exhibition series where participants can submit an art work for display in one of the exhibition showcases in November.

Calligraphy

Barbara King

Learn the ancient art of calligraphy with local artisan Barbara King. This artistic writing technique can be used to create art pieces in themselves such as an inspiring quote or poem.  This session is part of the Artist Lounge, Workshop to Exhibition series where participants can submit an art work for display in one of the exhibition showcases in November.
