Programs and events category

This category provides sponsorship for community programs or public events.

When are applications due?

  • The City coordinates two rounds of sponsorship per year in March and August.
  • Events held between July and December need to apply in the March round prior to the event.
  • Events held between January and June need to apply in the August round prior to the event.

What projects will be supported?

  • A community event or festival such as a Carols by Candlelight.
  • The installation of interpretive signage at a significant conservation area.
  • The planning and implementation of a fitness program such as a yoga program for seniors.
  • The local delivery of a statewide health initiative such as Walk Over October.
  • Free movie screenings in the community

What is not eligible?

  • Projects that commence before approvals are announced and sponsorship agreements have been signed.
  • Development of facilities owned by private individuals, businesses or non-public buildings.
  • Projects considered to be a full State or Federal Government responsibility.
  • Recurrent costs.
  • Facilities or fixtures for the express purpose of serving alcohol.
  • Projects that do not meet relevant Australian Standards, Legislative Requirements or comply with Council Policy.
  • Use as a contribution towards other funding programs.
  • Additional or 'top up' funds for projects already receiving financial assistance from the City in previous sponsorship rounds of the Community Sponsorship Program.
  • Organisations which have not satisfactorily acquitted previous sponsorships.

Who can apply?

  • Not for profit, incorporated clubs/community groups/organisations

How much can I apply for?

  • 75% of your total project costs (up to a maximum grant of $5,000)
