Ensure your vote counts

Residents and ratepayers are urged to help shape the future of the City of Gosnells by voting in the Local Government election this month.

Voting packs will be delivered to eligible electors between Wednesday 27 September and Tuesday 3 October.

Have your say in one of three ways:

  • Return your completed ballot paper to the WA Electoral Commission by Tuesday 17 October
  • Place your completed postal ballot paper in the ballot box at the City of Gosnells Civic Centre, 2120 Albany Highway, Gosnells, by Friday 20 October
  • Visit our Civic Centre polling place between 8am and 6pm on Saturday 21 October

The election is to fill seven vacancies on Council. Of these, six councillors will be elected for a four-year term and one will be elected for a two-year term.

Councillors provide a vital link between the community and the City, by representing the interests of ratepayers and residents in the decisions made at Council.

Local Government is responsible for much more than roads and rubbish. It also makes local laws, provides important community facilities such as parks and libraries, has a hand in community safety matters, makes decisions about planning and development, and advocates for the community at a State and Federal level.

Your vote in the Local Government elections will ensure you are represented.
