Community Citizen Awards 2017

Do you know a local community hero or outstanding community group?

Now is the time to recognise individual people or groups who make our community a great place, with nominations open for the Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

The awards celebrate community members, groups and events which have made a noteworthy contribution during 2017 or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

Coordinated by the Australia Day Council of Western Australia, the Community Citizen of the Year Awards is part of a national program encouraging active citizenship.

There are four categories open for nominations:

  • Community Citizen of the Year – Youth (under 25 years)
  • Community Citizen of the Year – Adult
  • Community Citizen of the Year – Senior (65 years and over)
  • Active Citizenship – community group or event

Nominations close on 31 October and nomination forms can be found on the City’s website.

Award recipients are announced as part of the City’s 2018 Australia Day celebrations.

Further information about the Awards can be obtained by contacting the City on 9397 3000 or from Australia Day WA's website
