A pantomime inspired by the classic nursery rhyme Old Mother Hubbard promises to bring fun, ridiculousness and family entertainment to the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 5 November.

The Wembley Theatre Company will return to the Thornlie-based theatre for its annual offering, featuring a witch, talking cat, songs galore, slapstick comedy and hearty pantomime jokes.

Poor old Mother Hubbard has fallen on hard times, with no food for the dog and all the citizens of Nursery Rhyme Land to look after. To fix the problem, she decides to marry off her beautiful daughter Polly to the rich Duke Ferdinand.

But Polly is in love with Dick, the woodchopper’s son, and she wants to marry him.

To appease Mother Hubbard, Polly and Dick go in search of the lost treasures of Arwen, while everyone else goes in search for them.
