Business Launchpad Awards

A Gosnells company that helps people to grow a tree from the ashes of their loved one or pet is the inaugural winner of the City of Gosnells Business Launchpad Awards.

Bryce Roberts established Tree of Memories in November 2016, and is the sole Western Australian distributor for ‘bios-urns’, which convert the ashes of a loved one or pet into a seedling.

City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle presented Mr Bryce with the award at an event attended by Business Station CEO Kim Charles, representatives from the other shortlisted businesses and invited guests.

“This award recognises and celebrates the importance of small business in our community, and provides an opportunity for businesses to showcase their achievements,” Mayor Searle said.

“The award also acknowledges the very great potential of small businesses in terms of community leadership, business ethics, environmental sustainability and innovation.”

The Business Launchpad Award is an initiative by the City of Gosnells and Business Station. To be eligible, nominees had to have a primary place of trade within the City of Gosnells and be less than three years old.

Businesses were invited to submit a business plan for assessment, and Business Station nominated suitable companies for the award. An independent panel of certified practising accountants assessed each nominee to determine the inaugural winner.

Other nominated businesses were Anubis Dermal, Civil Solutions WA, Impact Trim, Kiwi Catering, My Fair Lady Beauty and Day Spa, Ne: Solutions, Rubix Design and WH Engineering Solutions.
