Skateboard, scooter and BMX riders in the City of Gosnells can develop, improve and demonstrate their skills at a series of free clinics and competitions starting next month.

The Roll On Skate Park Series will bring free clinics and competitions to skate parks across the City between September 2017 and May 2018. In previous years, this series has attracted a lot of attention from skate park users within the City and from further afield.

The City of Gosnells will also host three Skateboarding WA events at Mills Park Skate Plaza – a Jam Session, WA Championships Competition Qualifier and the Game of SKATE State Series Final.

City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said the Roll On Skate Park Series allowed beginners to learn from more experienced riders at the clinics and the competitions allowed the more experienced riders to compete for some great prizes.

“The Roll On Skate Park Series brings together young people in our community, to share their enthusiasm and experience, improve their skills and showcase their talent,” Mayor Searle said.

Skateboards and helmets will be provided for the skate clinics. Helmets are also provided for the scooter clinics, but participants should bring their own scooter. The clinics are open for ages five and over and registration is compulsory.

For all the event dates and registration forms, please visit the City of Gosnells youth website www.thehive.net.au or call 9397 3131. Updates on the Roll On Skate Park Series will also be available on the City’s Youth Facebook page, @cityofgosnellsyouth.

All events are drug, alcohol and smoke free.
